The prayer meeting    Print This Page

One of the essential marks of a believer is that he prays, and one of the distinguishing marks of a gospel church is that the believers meet regularly to seek the will of God, his cleansing and renewing, in prayer together. Those praying in this way ought to be in spiritual health, having no unconfessed sin or improper attitude towards their fellow-believers. All who are gathered should seek the filling of the Holy Spirit, so that they may know the liberty of the children of God in holy boldness and exultant joy. The scripture also makes it clear that in the exercise of prayer the headship of man in the church and family should not be usurped by the woman. If and when women pray they should respect the scriptural principle of submission.
