It is the duty of the churches to examine themselves in the light of the scriptures. Reformation with a view to conformity to biblical requirements ought to be a continuing process rather than an occasional upheaval. This duty ought to be carried out with much prayer and -humbling before God. It should be preceded by adequate searching of the Word and instruction of the .people. Zeal and godly determination will be tempered with gentleness and patience. The Lord will honour diligent reformation in the churches. Without obedience to the Lord we have no right to look for his favour. Besides necessary adjustment of church life toscripture there is the great need of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Humble obedience ought to be accompanied by an earnest believing plea for God to rend the heavens and come down.
